Fourteen employees of the Eastern regional office of Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI) walked into the 3 hour PowerChoice Coaching session in May 2011 with the expectation that it would be more of the same about goal setting. Marcus set the ground rules early; one being when talking about the choices we make “I don’t know” is an unacceptable response. His powerful and pointed questions forced individuals to focus on what each really wanted in life and he cautioned against listening to the “gremlins” that serve as the barriers to reaching your goals. By the end of the intensive session each person had identified something in their personal and/or professional life that they wanted to accomplish and had outlined goals to begin that process. They included opening a business; coming to terms with family issues; accepting that she couldn’t meet the high expectations of family members; and beginning down the road of a healthier lifestyle. Several people informed me that the PowerChoice session was one of the most valuable educational in-services ever attended. I highly recommend PowerChoice coaching as a means to reach for the life changes that you’ve been thinking or dreaming about and making the choices to make it happen.
